Mary was this age when we flew to Disney World from Buffalo. At the US Immigration, each person was required to respond to the officer by themselves. The officer asked Mary if I was her father and if I had her mother’s permission to leave Canada? Mary looked at me, questioningly. I informed the officer I had shared custody and didn’t require written permission from her mother. When he looked at me with a side glance, I said, do you want to tell this little girl she is not going to be allowed to go to Disney World? He said nothing and looked at his computer screen. Suddenly, he asked Mary where she was going with her Dad. She quipped we’re going to a father-daughter-look-alike contest. He had to smile and pass us through. People often remarked how we looked so much alike.
Missing you every hour of every day. DAD
