Transition Day 2020

Three years ago, today, you said your last words, I love you. Thank you. What a blessing you gave me. From beginning to end, we stayed the course. Your bravery, courage, love, stamina, and many more accolades than cannot be written in such a short space, are the truest examples of the Power of Purpose. You lived it as you created it, full of fun and laughter. Your happiness will be remembered in many, many ways.

Star Dust to all!

I have begun to collaborate with some incredible CFers in the US. Both are transplants. Both beautiful people, full of life, and passion. You would really love them.

I met Isabel through a CF grievance group I joined. That was an incredible experience. Eight weekly Zoom calls with several parents of CFers, twin sister of CFer, best friend and CFer herself, and the wife of a CFer. One of the biggest outtakes for me was the agreement that hospice care is essential to CFers, and the world in general.

Seven More Sleeps Mary, until…

You loved the Fall. It reminded you of your birthday coming up. When you were young, we would put up birthday decorations for you, Miranda, and Michael near Miranda’s Oct 8th, I think, and leave them up until Dec 27 for Michaels. His was a month after yours on November 27th.

Love you this……………much. As big as I can reach.

Message to Mary & Clara

It has been such a beautiful fall day today and yesterday at Windy Heron House. I know Mary, you would love today. You always loved the fall because it got closer to your birthday and CHRISTMAS!

Love you both beyond measure.

Getting Ready for the Miracle Child

Mary and Darren renovated the house in Kitchener to get ready for the new arrival.

I came over to help do some drywall and flooring.

Mary picked out the bed and we put it together. It is Oct

Tell Me About Mary

In July 2013, Mary bought these prints. I know because she left me the email with the attachments of the prints. Where the Wilds Things Are was a book we shared many, many times. I would read it and be animated when reciting, and they rolled their terrible eyes, and mashed their terrible teeth, and showed their terrible claws. Mary would laugh and laugh. She always liked to smile. We both liked this saying that I used often to her even as an adult.

I know she got these for Clara to express her love for her, as she did in so many ways. I am so proud of her.

Clara & the Purple Dress

Mary loved pink and purple. When she was young, purple was her favorite colour.  One Sunday, Mary, and Clara were out for a walk and passed by a dress shop that had a purple dress in the window. Clara, then Jack, fell head over heels in love with the dress in the window. Mary, being aware of the cost of such a dress tried in vain to interest Clara in any other dress in the window. Clara would have no part of it.

The next day they went to the store and again, Mary attempted to sway Clara’s thinking toward something less expensive.  No go. Clara was adamant. Mary loved Clara so much and admired Clara’s clarity and bought her the dress. Here is a picture near the dress shop the day they bought it.
